Anger swells with every acidic heartbeat,

Cruel thoughts rush with the corrosive tide.

Sacred boundaries trampled underfoot,

Neglected to exalt your consuming pride.

Desire reigns to captivate the naïve of heart,

For torn loyalties selfish ambition did beat.

Reaching for another’s affection,

Discounting the crushed skulls under your feet.

Dual roles woven with remarkable deception,

 Your jagged intentions veiled carefully with lace.

Exposed you stand cornered,

Smearing the truth like the blood on my face.
