Haiti Day 3

Today we went to a Creole church service on the compound. It was sweltering and the service was about 3 hours long! I loved hearing familiar worship songs sung in a different language. Haitian church services are so joyful and sincere. Every now and then the pastor would pause and translate the message for us. It was so amazing to hear that my Jesus, who is compassionate, powerful, and personal, is exactly their Jesus. The same God, the same hope. The differences in skin color, language, dress, income and culture melted away with the beads of sweat. We were all just children reaching for our Father.
